The Starter course includes the mandatory STCW Basic Safety Training as required by all yacht crew, and the Security Awareness course that is also required by many employers.
Once qualified we can help you with your CV and give you a head start getting your first Superyacht Job.
Package Contents
Included in the Yacht Crew Starter course is the mandatory STCW Basic Safety Training package. You need this before you can work on a superyacht. In addition to this you will also complete your Security Awareness course too.
Jobs Available
Upon completion of the Yacht Crew Starter Package you will be legally permitted to take on jobs such as superyacht steward, stewardess, deckhand or a mixed role ´deck-stew´for example with an average salary of £30k to £50k.
Accreditation
The Starter Package comprises of internationally recognised courses accredited by the UK Maritime & Coastguard Agency. We are an approved MCA course provider.
Accommodation
We can provide amazing value accommodation on site onboard one of our training yachts moored in the heart of the Ocean Village Resort.
Course Description
The Allabroad Superyacht Crew Starter Package is a 5 Day Safety and Security Training program for anyone wishing to become Superyacht crew, stewardesses, deckhand or work as part of the crew onboard a superyacht. No previous experience is required.
The package combines classroom based theory and medium to high intensity practical sessions, including fighting live fires in a confined space, and swimming pool safety activities.
All training is conducted in English in British Gibraltar and courses run every week from Monday to Friday 0845 to 1700
We can provide subsidised accommodation from around £125 for the week.
Allabroad STCW Basic Safety Training courses are delivered in Gibraltar, and are directly accredited by the UK Maritime & Coastguard Agency (MCA)
Certification
Upon successful completion of each module you will achieve your STCW Basic Safety Training certification including Proficiency in Security Awareness.
STCW Personal Survival Techniques (A-VI/1-1)
STCW Fire Fighting and Fire Prevention
(A-VI/1-2)
STCW Elementary First Aid
(A-VI/1-3)
STCW Personal Safety and Social Responsibility (A-VI/1-4)
STCW Proficiency in Security Awareness (A-VI/6-1)
certificates are valid for 5 years after which time you will need to complete a 2 day refreshers course.

As a subsidiary executive agency of the UK Department for Transport, the MCA is responsible for the syllabus and training standards for ships' officers and crew to the STCW requirements.
