As a subsidiary executive agency of the UK Department for Transport, the MCA is responsible for the syllabus and training standards for ships' officers and crew to the STCW requirements. Course Description
The medical care course is mandatory for some positions on board ship, but also a recommended addition to any ocean going skillset with many round the world sailors enrolling.
You must have Proficiency in Medical First Aid first aid prior to enrolling. The STCW Basic Safety Training course is also a prerequisite for this course.
