STCW Elementary First Aid
It is essential to have a basic knowledge of the immediate action to be taken upon encountering an injury at sea. The course covers: Basic Life Support including the use of an Automatic External Defibrillator, Hypothermia, cold water shock and drowning, Bleeding, Burns & Bones, and much more. You will practice on various manikins and Automatic Defibrillators.
This course is essential for a variety of purposes:
- Required to commercially endorse a RYA certificate (Powerboat, Day Skipper or Yachtmaster)
- Part of the full STCW Basic Safety Training which is required for a variety of maritime careers
- A great course to do before extended personal cruising on your own boat
- Required before joining many organised cross ocean rallies
